I’m Here to Break Down Your Riding Difficulties

Helping Your Body, Riding And Horse!

There is one principle that should not be abandoned, the rider must first learn to control themselves before they can control the horse

Horse riding position exercises

Putting the spotlight on you riders, an easier way forward!

How we ride influences which parts of the body the horse can use, which shapes their posture. The rider's influence is often overlooked when horses face movement challenges and some lameness issues.

Consider your current posture and symmetry, many riders have a mix of overused areas (like balance pulling you one way), weaknesses (like a hand that has a mind of its own), and blind spots (where corrections feel strange and hard to connect with).

Investing in yourself benefits you, your riding and horse. Preventing premature wearing of joints, aches and pains, stiffness, restrictions, promotes ageing well and enhances health.

I can show you the specific movements your body needs and how you can easily weave them into your day (no more having to set aside a portion of the day for exercises). Enhancing your sense of feel, balance, coordination, mobility, strength and much more!

Improving riding position

I spent years searching for answers, and found something amazing

If you sit in a room full of horse riders, there will seldom be anyone who hasn’t stacked up a few riding injuries (I see you!). Or is a casualty of yard work.

At age 20, I seem to embark on a career of constant injuries! Ruptured ankle ligaments, multiple fractures, torn muscles, neck, shoulder, back pain, and a significant hip injury. Chronic pain inspired my training in human and equine therapy.

My injuries progressed, limiting my walking, making riding painful and affected my health. I began searching for something that conventional therapy did not appear to influence. Restorative exercise gave me my life back, enabling me to achieve things I never thought possible.

Sam is such a thorough thoughtful practitioner. She has supported my horses for twenty years and has really made a difference in keeping them sound happy and healthy. Sam has treated myself, my partner and (more importantly) my dogs recently with equally positive results. My partner hasn’t experienced any back pain at all since Sam worked on him with his movement two years ago. She really is a remarkable practitioner.
